I have to admit it takes a lot to amaze me but today you amazed me! We had so many people in line that I had one of our staff take pictures. There were over 120 people in line when we opened. And everyone of you were smiling!! We can not even put into words how much we appreciate everyone who comes to our sales. Thank You just doesn't seem like enough.
The comments we received today warm our hearts and keep us going. One couple told Jayne that our sales are the only ones they come to because we make them feel like family. And one of our regular customers who waited in line for over 2 hours said everyone he talked to had nothing but wonderful things to say about us. I feel like Sally Field when she accepted her first Oscar and said "You love me!". We work hard but the reward comes in all the referrals that we get, not just from previous clients, but from you, our customers. So far the feedback, both from emails and today, have been 99% positive in regards to our decision to discontinue taking credit and debit cards and reverting back to Cash Only Sales. Once again I got last months bill....$220.00 and we collected $67.00 in fees in July. But our low prices are what empties the homes of our Clients and that's what we want to continue to give you. I'm pooped, I'm going to put my feet up and enjoy the rest of my evening. Thank you again from Wendy and I and all our Great Staff. And Thank You for all the people who asked about Taylor Jane. Mom

There was a comment in January about not blogging since last May. We are working a minimun of 5 days and usually 6 every week trying to keep up. I also have a 22 year old Granddaughter with Stage 3 Cancer. So I'm not going to apologize for not blogging. It's like Facebook, I don't do Facebook. I don't even know why we have a page. I spend time enough on the computer trying to keep the Upcoming Sales page up to date, and sometimes I fail at that. We're averaging 4 to 7 calls a week and then following them up with appointments. I know the majority of our loyal customers understand and I'm so appreciative of that.
We can tell the homes have started to sell. We signed 2 contracts today and we have more appointments this week. We've added to our pre-sale staff to speed up the process and hopefully we can keep it up. See you all soon and have a beautiful day. Mom I have to apologize for not keeping our Blogs (who came up with that name?) more up to date, but I know everyone understands. Wendy has not received good news concerning her back and she's now waiting to schedule an MRI. She shouldn't have been working at all the first 6-8 weeks after her fall. But I think I remember mentioning how stubborn she is. I told her there's a reason our last couple of sales have turned out to be One Day Only ones. Everything happens for a reason. But on to better things. We have a couple of Nice Sales coming up in June and July! One has gobs of Costume Jewelry ladies. We're definitely keeping busy.
I'm so happy to have my youngest Me, Susan, here to help us until Wendy is fully recovered. Her Real Estate business is doing great but she's still giving us lots of hours to keep up with our schedule. If you're thinking of Selling or Buying a Home, call us or her (I'll be happy to give you her number). We're scheduling Sales into late July already, so that will tell you how much notice we may need. Important Change! Starting immediately, we can no longer accept Rewards Credit Cards. The cost is 10 to 12 times higher than regular Credit and/or Debit Cards. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but it is being done out of necessity for the Business. Thank you in advance for your understanding. Have a wonderful afternoon. Mom Thank You to Everyone who helped empty the home on Kent Place this weekend! It only took 3 of us 30 minutes to box up the small amount that was left. And the Client is very happy. I also want to Thank Barbara Soussiat for helping us at the Sale. Wendy was able to stay about 2 1/2 hours on Friday and 2 hours on Saturday. Remember I told you that keeping her down would be the biggest challenge? LOL
We're already hard at work on our next sale in The Victorian Estates. So many treasures. And a Thank You needs to go out to those that came and purchased large furniture at our Pre-Sale. We are now able to set up tables!! Lots of Treasures at this one. It's Sunday and I'm off to meet a potential buyer for the Baby Grand that we have for sale. Have a Great Weekend Everyone! Mom I can't even begin to Thank Everyone for all the Prayers and Thoughts that have come our way since Sunday. Wendy was released from the hospital late yesterday. All the tests on her heart came back good.
So, yes, the power of Prayer is Amazing! She can't return to work at the Dinner Bell for 6 to 8 weeks and she's moving very, very slow. But she wanted me to extend her Thank You to all of the people (over 200) that sent us emails. She can do limited work so she'll probably be at the Cashier's Table on April 6th & 7th when we do our next Estate Sale. We appreciate each and every one of you. Mom Hello Everyone!
This has not been the best of days for our family. My beautiful daughter Wendy, who is the Me of Mom & Me, not only suffered a mild heart attack this morning but she also fractured her back during a fall from losing consciousness. So if I don't return calls quickly I know you'll understand. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. I'm praying for good news tomorrow. Mom Happy New Year Everyone! If you've looked at the Upcoming Sales page you can see we've been busy over the holidays. And we started on our next sale last week also. I have such wonderful news to share. I found out over the holidays that I'm going to be a Great Grandma for the 9th time. My oldest granddaughter is expecting and I'm so happy for them. She's wanted a second child for over 5 years and it's finally happening. For all of you who came to "Private Sale" at my new place and asked that I send you pictures when it was finished, you'll be happy to know the inside (only) is done. I walked into a horrible mess with an open mind an this is what I got when we were done. So here's the living room, office, master bath, kitchen & master bedroom. Hope you like it. What a Great Opening Crowd we had for our last Sale of the year! The metal cars, vintage phones and lots of other treasures were gone early. Thank you so much for all your support this year. We so appreciate each and every one who attends our Sales.
We're not taking December off as we've assured our Clients for our next Estate Sale that we will move it up by almost a month. We're still pulling Antiques out of cabinets and it will take us until the first or second week of January to have it ready. But I can assure you at least one of us says "Oh Wow! Look what I found" everyday that we work there. But we do plan on taking a couple of days off every week now through Christmas to get ready for the Holidays. And with that said, We Wish Everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year! May there be Peace on Earth. Mom Just want to send out a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Wendy and I are heading to the Valley this morning to spend Thanksgiving Day at my youngest me's home with lots of grand and great grandchildren.
And also I wanted to let everyont know that we've moved the date up on the 6800 sq.ft. home in The Ranch. It turned out to not be what we had anticipated, and that happens sometimes. So it will be our last sale of 2017. It's going to be a One Day Only Sale, we've priced Everything Very Low to empty the home. There are some true treasures: Vintage toys, Old photographs, Tintypes, Postcards, Life Magazines, Antique and Small furniture, lots of great silk plants and flowers, Artwork and more. We'll see you there. Peace. Mom Thank You to everyone who weathered the rough road and limited parking to come and help us sell almost out. It's the first time we've done a Sale on Saturday & Sunday, and probably the last.
We started work at The Ranch this morning. The family is going to help us move everything to the upstairs for the sale. It's so large that there will still be plenty of walking aroung room. And we won't have to print up maps LOL! So far I can tell you there's lots of artwork and silk plants, some Antique and newer Furniture, wonderful collectibles (toys, phones, old photos and more). We've made it very easy (thanks to Kyle at TuffTechies!) for people to join our email list. All they have to do is go to the Home Page, fill in the form, consent to the join and it's done. We get notified every time someone signs up and we're fastly approaching 1,100. I remember how exited Wendy and I were when we hit 500. Have a Great Week Everyone! Mom |
